MANILA, Philippines - After the initial launch of its newest postpaid offering in its expanded reach in Mindanao service area, Sun Cellular now moves up north to bring the Plan 250 in Luzon.
“After a successful pilot run in Mindanao, we are now launching this Plan 250 offering in Luzon to let our subscribers up north experience the convenience of our postpaid services even without spending too much”, says Ricky Peña, senior vice president for postpaid marketing, broadband and new business of Sun Cellular.
For only P250 per month, this newest Sun plan offers Sun-to-Sun texts, four hours of Sun-to-Sun calls and 500 texts to other networks, plus a free phone. With more text features, this plan serves best those users who are more accustomed to texting rather than calling. The new Plan 250 will be available in Benguet, Ifugao, Isabela, Kalinga Apayao, Mountain Province, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora and Quirino provinces.
Sun Cellular continues to lead the postpaid market, with five out of every 10 new postpaid customers choosing to get a Sun Cellular line over other postpaid plans for the past five years. It also maintains double-digit growth rate on its subscriber base, with over 30 percent increase in subscribers for January compared to the same period last year.
Peña also mentioned that this newest Plan 250 is a timely offering, given Sun’s expanded network coverage in Luzon. Aside from this, he also highlighted Sun’s ongoing network strengthening efforts in various parts of the country.
“This 2012, we are focusing on boosting our network coverage by augmenting and optimizing our existing cell sites, and taking advantage of synergies with our sister companies in the PLDT Group,” Pena said. “This extensive network strengthening campaign will be complimented with products that best suit the needs of the locals in the areas we are expanding to.”
