The kids are alright at The Shang

Catwalk-worthy fashion from The Ramp

MANILA, Philippines - Shangri-La Plaza recently held a fashion event featuring kiddie and youth brands at the East Atrium.

Showcasing the latest styles for kids and teens, key pieces from Rustan’s Department Store demonstrated how to get that carefree-yet-polished ensemble from comfy cotton shirts to khaki pants, and lightweight jackets to walking shorts. Young and fresh-faced models paraded in sweet floral-print dresses and tops from The Ramp Crossings and Elle Girl, and sashayed in bright pastel dresses adorned with ruffles, frills, and layers from Barbie.

Petit Bateau and Gap revived a vintage flair as their collection displayed stripes in classic blue and white, as well as other color combinations. Brands like Justice, Gingersnaps, Osh Kosh B’Gosh, Mothercare, Guess Kids and ELLE mixed and matched basics with edgy statement pieces, for casual, laid-back looks; while Periwinkle, Peppermint, Twilo, and Debenhams kept it smart and classy with dressier options.

The following day, popular brands such as Shana, Folded & Hung, Guess, Mexx, F&X, and Samuel and Kevin all took on unique and edgy street-style looks; while GForce presented its line of active lifestyle wear for the upbeat individual. Drawing inspiration from art and music festivals, UnaRosa showed how to take on the bohemian look, with just the right relaxed feel and hip style; as Kamiseta, The Flower Collection, ForMe, XOXO and Bayo focused on bright prints such as polka dots, stripes, floral and tropical prints in easy, breezy silhouettes.

Other specialty brands like PJ’s Sleepwear, Arena, Mamaway and Kidsports also took to the runway to showcase their latest collections. Finally, Miss Selfridge, G2000, Camaieu, and Esprit made for a grand finale with their collections of cocktail and maxi dresses decked in beads and sequins, tailored coats and skirts, and button-downs for men.

Indeed, the Shang fashion show displayed a complete anthology of the metro’s best picks, as well as the trendy ways to style them, using the freshest sartorial offerings from the lifestyle destination’s leading kids and youth fashion brands.
