MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Opera Company (POC) will be training groups as well as individuals who are interested in honing their skills in singing, playing a wide range of musical instruments or even proper stage performance at the Opera Haus Arts Center.
For this summer, POC will be offering lessons in voice, piano, guitar, basic theory, violin as well as a totally new program called Buddy Lessons, which offers voice and instrument lessons designed for couples or friends who may want to study voice or the same instrument, together.
The Opera Haus Arts Center teachers are seasoned professionals from the country’s most respected music conservatories. Students will not only learn the right vocal techniques but, more importantly, to protect their voice box. Voice lessons keeps students in control of their vocal chords to express colors that help them emphasize points. Whether in the board room or in social events such as singing or public speaking, voice lessons certainly provides people the edge they need.
Voice students also have the option to choose from varied repertoires including Classical, Pop, Broadway / Musical Theater, Jazz and Standards.
The center will likewise be offering Music and Movement workshops from April 9 to May 23, which are especially designed for toddlers, children, pre-teens and teens.
Music and Movement for Toddlers includes singing and movement activities, storytelling, instrument playing, games which incorporates art, music and dancing. Music and Movement for children, teens and adults are introduction to the basics of musical theater, which focuses on the acting, singing and performance skills.
Theater professionals under the supervision of the Philippine Opera Company’s faculty will head all workshops.
