In full power @ SM

MANILA, Philippines - Menswear is stylishly power-suiting this season. After the successful Philippine Fashion Week presentation held at the SMX Convention Center on Oct. 21, SM Department Store is leading local men’s fashion in full power. Sleek, contemporary and forward suiting walked the seamless runway in striking fearless fashion. One can’t help but notice the impeccable tailoring, fresh take on fabrication, fusion of neutrals with color and up-to-date tapering.

Leading chic menswear to 2010 was in-house label Anthony Nocom (known locally as the trendsetter in local men’s retail) accompanied by Onessimus, GQ and Van Heusen. Overall, the men’s suit collection presented two style narratives for the modern man — trendy and classic. The trendy look was a powerful exposition of contemporary mix and matching. Whether on fabrication, contrasting hues or styles, it was a strong statement of harmonious juxtapositions that echoed the looks of international brands such as Paul Smith, Ralph Lauren and the likes.

Breaking boundaries and braving the traditional, men’s personal styling has become a playful but serious experimentation that dares and evokes uncompromising attention. There is a youthful vibe and feel of today’s wall street fashion that’s globally influencing men’s dressing into a new age of style.

On the other hand, the classic look maintains confidence and security in timeless fashion. Part of the collection presented “forever pieces” in black, gray and dark navy characterized by both simplicity and elegance. The sophisticatedly well-tailored pieces were strong must-have wardrobe staples that call to mind international household names such as Armani, Boss and Cerrutti.

Behind the impeccable clean lines and powerful monotone palette is an authoritative statement of enduring style that will surpass trends and last a lifetime.
