Coins.ph teams up with Bayad

MANILA, Philippines — Digital asset platform Coins.ph is expanding its payments business through a partnership with Bayad that will nearly double the number of billers available on its app and reduce reliance on third-party payment aggregators.
Through a direct integration with Bayad’s biller network, Coins.ph users can now pay nearly 300 merchants covering utilities, government services, telecommunications, travel, banking and other recurring expenses.
The expansion doubles the number of billers previously available on the platform and strengthens Coins.ph’s push to position itself beyond cryptocurrency trading as an everyday payments and financial services app.
Coins.ph said the direct application programming interface integration with Bayad would allow transactions for major billers to be processed more quickly by removing third-party intermediaries from the payment chain.
The integration also supports real-time posting for major billers, with payments expected to be reflected within 24 hours, helping users avoid delays that could lead to late-payment charges.
“We want to show how Coins.ph fits naturally into your daily life,” Coins.ph global marketing director Amira Alawi said.
“By partnering with a household name as trusted as Bayad, we’re making it incredibly easy for our users to settle their utilities and everyday expenses with nearly 300 billers, all in just a few taps,” she said.
The partnership will also broaden the usefulness of Coins.ph for customers who primarily use the app for conventional financial transactions rather than buying or selling digital assets.
For Bayad, the agreement extends the reach of its payment infrastructure through another digital financial platform as more consumers shift routine transactions to mobile applications.
“This partnership bridges the best of everyday traditional payments with the power of digital finance,” Bayad chief commercial and marketing officer Dennis Gatuslao said.
Bayad, formerly known as Bayad Center, is part of the MVP Group and serves more than 500 billing institutions and government agencies across utilities, banking, insurance, government contributions, transportation, loans and other services.
