New Pasig City Hall to open in 2027

MANILA, Philippines — The New Pasig City Hall complex will be opened by September 2027, according to city administrator Jeronimo Manzanero.
Unlike typical mega-infrastructure projects financed through local government loans, city resources funded the P9.2-billion project without incurring debt, he said.
Manzanero cited Mayor Vico Sotto’s procurement reforms.
“We tried to clean up procurement... (there used to be an) unwritten rule of 20-percent kickbacks,” Manzanero said.
Eliminating these leaks in an annual procurement budget of P5 billion saved the city about P1 billion per year without sacrificing or reducing social services, he said.
The Pasig City Construction Consortium joint venture led by Sta. Clara International Corp. is constructing the project.
Manzanero said the contractor is running ahead of key construction milestones, keeping the project on track to welcome city officials and the public by late 2027.
