Cebuano golfers shine in Bacolod tourney

CEBU, Philippines — Cebuano golfers led by Atty. Marven Pañares stole the show in the 6th Bacolod Birdie Masters, Inc. (BBMI) Friendship Cup 2026 held last August 6-9 at the Marapara Golf Club in Bacolod City.

Pañares was declared as the overall lowest net champion.

The Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) deputy commissioner for basketball also powered Team EDC to the Class B crown  together with his golf buddies Keith Siao, GP Equipaje, and Yuji Echaorre.

Aside from securing the title, Pañares and his teammates also punched tickets to the National Finals of the World Amateur Golf Championship (WAGC) slated on September 11-12 at Caliraya Springs Golf Club in Laguna. – EBV
