Vocal queens Mamamoo return to Manila after 3 years
MANILA, Philippines — “Mamamoo is coming back for you.” And after three years, they finally did, reuniting with Filipino Moomoos in Manila.
A sea of lights and a thunder of stomping feet welcomed the K-pop girl group as they brought their “4WARD” world tour to the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, August 8.
Returning to the same venue where they held their “My Con” stop in 2023, the quartet once again delivered the CD-like vocals they have become known for across a 28-song setlist.
But while they have always made the stage their own, the vocal queens now seemed to claim the Big Dome as their home.
Throughout the show, the members — Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa — ventured into different sections of the venue, interacting with fans while walking through the aisles of the VIP and Patron sections.
They opened the 2.5-hour concert with their debut song “Mr. Ambiguous,” with Solar and Moonbyul stationed in different sections of the venue before making their way to the stage, much to the surprise of Moomoos.
During several songs, the members got up close with lucky fans, interacting with their phones, holding their hands, and offering fan service that reflected a greater sense of comfort and confidence compared to their previous visit.
"Thank you to all of our Manila Moomoos for coming a far way just to come here today. Despite the heavy rain, thank you very much for coming today," Solar said in Korean.
'Mga anak ng Manila'
Having recently celebrated their 12th anniversary, the quartet displayed the chemistry and stage presence that have defined their career.
The group also made an effort to communicate with their Filipino audience by learning a few Filipino phrases, with their leader Solar saying “Salamat” numerous times throughout the concert, drawing cheers from fans.
“When we were in Manila three years ago, we left with such a great aftertaste of the concert,” Solar said in Korean.
The group also praised the audience's thunderous stomping, saying it made their hearts “feel grander.”
Hits such as “Hip,” “Gogobebe,” and “Aya” highlighted the group’s performance skills through energetic choreography and commanding stage presence.
Meanwhile, Mamamoo's vocals took center stage during performances of “I Miss You” and a trot version of “Taller Than You.”
“Kami ang mga anak ng Manila, Mamamoo," Wheein said in Tagalog before the trot rendition.
After performing “Baton Touch,” the members passed around a microphone designed to resemble a Moobong, their official lightstick, before taking turns performing their solo tracks: Hwasa’s upbeat synth-pop song “So Cute,” Wheein’s rock anthem “The Symphony of Fxxkboys,” Moonbyul’s rock-inspired “Hertz,” and Solar’s jazz-blues track “Blues.”
The group also performed their latest song “4Flowers” from their special single album “4WARD,” which inspired the fan-project banner that read: “As seasons fade and skies turn blue, our endless love belongs to you.”
"'Yung mga Manila Moomoos natin, sobrang-sobra kayong passionate na nag-enjoy kayo. Hindi namin makakalimutan," Solar said in Korean.
Mamamoo made its latest comeback on June 4, marking its first group release in three years and eight months since the mini album “Mic On” was released in October 2022.
The quartet is currently on its world tour, with stops in Korea, Taiwan, Macau, Singapore, Jakarta, Australia, and the United States. The Manila stop was presented by Wilbros Live.
A day before their Manila concert, fans spotted Solar, Moonbyul, and Hwasa strolling around Cubao.
Prior to the group’s stop in the Philippines, Wheein returned to Manila for her solo fan concert “Owheece” in November 2025.
