42 nabbed in Calabarzon anti-crime campaign

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Forty-two crime suspects have been arrested in simultaneous anti-crime operations conducted within 24 hours across Calabarzon.
Among those collared from Thursday to yesterday were 21 most wanted people including six from the regional level, three from provincial and 12 from city and municipal levels, according to Brig. Gen. Hanzel Marantan, Calabarzon police director.
The rest were arrested in related manhunt operations launched by various police units in the region.
One of those arrested was a certain Julius, who is facing charges of parricide for the murder of his wife in Pakil, Laguna in December.
On the same day, members of the Tanay police arrested another murder suspect identified only as Victor in Siniloan, Laguna.
No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the suspects.
“There is no safe haven in Calabarzon for criminals in hiding. If you plan to hide here, your days are numbered. We assure you that no fugitive will escape justice,” Marantan said.
