WHAT MATTERS MOST - Atty Josephus B Jimenez - The Freeman

Of the 67 partylist representatives, 47 voted yes in support of the Articles of Incorporation, and only 20 either opposed, abstained or absented themselves on the day of the voting. Let us take a look at the list and determine their respective principles, ideology and political inclination.

They are Jonathan Clement Abalos of the 4 Ps; Jude Acidre of Tingog, a party founded by former speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez; James Jojo Ang of Uswag Ilonggo, Milagros Aquino-Magsaysay of United Senior Citizens; Munir Arbison, Jr, of Kapuso PM, son of Sulu congressman Munir Arbison Sr. Johanne Monich Bautista of Trabaho, and Ching Bernos of Abra's Solid North Party.

Also voted yes were Nicanor Briones of Agap, Percival "Percy" Cendana of Akbayan. Renee Louise Co of Kabataan, Presley de Jesus of Philreca, Leila M de Lima of Mamamayang Liberal, Jose Manuel "Chel" Diokno of Akbayan, Sarah Jane Elago of Gabriela, Filemon Espares of Coop Natcco, Robert Raymond Estrella of Abono, Edwin Gardiola of CWS or Construction Workers' Solidarity, Maria Cristina Jehan Glepa of One Coop.

Joining those who voted yes for the impeachment of vice president Sara Duterte, among partylist representatives were Ramon Rodrigo Gutierrez of 1-Rider, Dadah Kiram Ismula of Akbayan, Manuel Ko of Abang Lingkod, Sonny Lagon of Ako Bisaya, Franz Vincent Legaspi of Pinoy Workers, Marcelino Libanan of 4 Ps, Maria Cristina Talavera Lopez of Alona, and Raymond Democrito Mendoza of TUCP.

Moreover, Iris Marie Demesa Montes of 4K voted yes to the impeachment of the vice president together with, Henry Oaminal Jr of Asenso Pinoy, Nathaniel M Oducado, 1 Tahanan, Rodolfo Ordonez, Senior Citizens Party List, Jan Padiernos of Galing sa Puso, Brian Poe of FPJ Panday Bayanihan, Bryan Revilla of Agimat, and Terry Ridon of Bicol Saro.

The following partylist representatives also voted to support the impeachment of the vice president. Anak Mindanao's (Abamin) Maximo Rodriguez, Jr, brother of Cagayan de Oro second district Representative Rufus Rodriguuez, along with Andrew Julian Romualdez, son of the former speaker Ferdinand Martin, of the Tingog party list and Yedda marie K Romualdez, wife of the former speaker, and mother of Andrew Julian.

The partylist members of the House who supported the impeachment also included Kamanggagawa party list representative Elijah San Fernando, ACT CIS Jeffrey Soriano, Kusug Tausug Aiman T Tan, Kamalayan's Caroline Tanchay, Kenneth Paolo Tereng of KM Ngayon Na, Jose Bong Teves of TGP, Antonio Tinio of ACT Teachers, Jocelyn Tulfo of ACT CIS, Alan Ty of LPGMA, and Florabel Yatco of Nanay,

The following partylist representatives voted No to the Articles of Impeachment: Harold James Duterte of PPP, for obvious reasons. He is joined by Rolando Ledesma Macasaet of SSS GSIS Pensionado, Paolo Henry Marcoleta of SAGIP, Robert Nazal of BH, Richelle Singson of Ako Ilocano, Ako and Girlie Veloso of Makasakit @Bayanihan.

Although there are a number of these partylists whose alleged constituencies are of doubtful veracity, they were allowed to run by the Comelec and they got enough number of votes to send one or two, or even three representatives like AKBAYAN and TINGOG/ Now, we know what kind of representatives have we sent to the House to enact laws that shall govern the whole nation for many generations to come.

The impeachment of the vice president shall help us define what kind of legislators we have sent to Congress. If we are disappointed with some or many of them, it is our own fault that we did not use our minds and consciences.  We truly deserve the officials that we elect. We have no one else to blame for what is happening to our country today.
