Senate majority no-show for second time

Ian Laqui - Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines — The Senate majority bloc will once again skip the Senate session.

This was confirmed to reporters on Tuesday, June 2, by Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri, who said that the Senate Secretariat relayed a message from Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano that the majority bloc would not appear.

No reason was given for the majority bloc's absence, according to Zubiri.

This is the second time the majority bloc has not appeared in a Senate session, the first being on June 1, following the arrest of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada on plunder charges.

This is a developing story. Details to follow.
