Cloudy, rainy weather expected across Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Scattered rains, thunderstorms and cloudy skies are expected to persist over several parts of the country until the end of October due to the combined effects of three weather systems, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
PAGASA said the northeasterly wind flow, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the easterlies are currently influencing weather patterns across the country.
The ITCZ will continue to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Palawan, the Visayas and Mindanao, while the shear line will affect Batanes and Babuyan Islands, resulting in similar weather conditions.
The northeasterly wind flow is bringing cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Aurora and Quezon.
Meanwhile, the easterlies – or warm and humid winds from the Pacific Ocean – are prevailing over the eastern section of Luzon, resulting in generally fair but humid weather with chances of brief afternoon or evening rain showers in Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon.
Based on PAGASA’s extended weather outlook for selected cities issued yesterday, cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms may affect Puerto Princesa City and the Kalayaan Group of Islands in Palawan, Bacolod, Iloilo, Metro Cebu, Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Valencia City in Bukidnon, Metro Davao and Zamboanga City today.
Similar conditions are expected in Metro Manila, Tuguegarao, Clark Zone, Olongapo, Tagaytay, Lipa, Legazpi, Puerto Princesa, Bacolod, Iloilo, Metro Cebu, Tacloban and Zamboanga tomorrow.
On Oct. 28, cloudy and rainy weather may persist in Tuguegarao, Puerto Princesa and the Kalayaan Islands, while by Oct. 29, most of the country may experience partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
