DOJ slams Sarah Discaya’s finger heart gesture

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice (DOJ) took exception to the demeanor of embattled contractor Sarah Discaya, saying the “K-pop finger heart” gesture she made to reporters was a sign of “insincerity and complacency.”
Discaya, who has been tagged in the controversial anomalous infrastructure projects, went to the DOJ on Sept. 17 for the continuation of the evaluation of her and husband Curlee’s application for the Witness Protection Program.
Asked how she was doing when she entered the DOJ premises, Sarah responded with the K-pop-style “finger heart” sign instead of answering their questions.
When she left the headquarters after more than three hours, and asked how she was feeling, Discaya said: “Gandahan niyo yung memes ko,” expressing desire for cool memes.
“The heart sign and the remarks of Ms. Sarah Discaya are all taken into account in the assessment and evaluation of the persons involved,” DOJ spokesman Mico Clavano said in a statement.
“It is a sign of insincerity and complacency. We urge all persons of interest in this case to behave accordingly,” he added.
