Marcos encourages Pinoys to watch MMFF entries
MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos yesterday encouraged Filipinos to support the entries in the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) as they celebrate the Christmas season.
In a video message, Marcos called on moviegoers to bring with them their families and friends when they watch the 10 participating films that he described as the stories of the Filipinos.
“This Christmas, the stories of our race will again take the spotlight. This is because of the special celebration of the 50th year of the Metro Manila Film Festival, which has become part of our life and culture as Filipinos,” the President said.
“The good movies that are participating in the golden year of MMFF will surely provide golden cheers and will leave behind golden lessons. Let us support the stories of the Filipinos,” he added.
Marcos then greeted MMFF on its 50th year and wished the Filipinos a merry Christmas.
The 10 MMFF entries for this year are the family comedy drama “And the Breadwinner is” by Star Cinema and The IdeaFirst Company; horror film “Espantaho” by Quantum Films, Cineko Productions and Purple Bunny Productions; morality drama “Green Bones” by GMA Pictures; romantic fantasy “Hold Me Close” by Viva Films and Ninuno Media; musical “Isang Himala” by Kapitol Films and UXS; action adventure drama “The Kingdom” by APT Entertainment, Mzet Productions and Mediaquest; romance film “My Future You” by Regal Entertainment; horror film “Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital” by Reality MM Studios; action thriller “Topakk” by Nathan Studios, Strawdog Studios and FUSEE; and revenge thriller “Uninvited” by Mentorque Productions and Project 8 Projects.
