MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday reminded the public that voter registration and validation for the 2016 national elections is only until October 31.

Comelec Chairperson Andres Bautista launched the poll body's "Walang Forever" countdown as a reminder for old and new voters.

As of Tuesday, the public has 67 days left to register for the 2016 polls.

The Comelec has earlier reminded the public that they could undergo biometrics registration at their local poll offices and register as new voters.

Satellite registration in malls is also conducted during weekends for workers to sign up for the 2016 national elections.

The poll body will lease 93,000 optical mark readers from Smartmatic-Total Information Management Corp. for the 2016 polls.
