PDEA needs 500 agents
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is looking for new anti-narcotics officers to boost the government’s fight against illegal drugs, an official said yesterday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said the agency needs more than 500 qualified drug enforcement officers (DEOs) to take the six-month drug enforcement officer basic course, which will start in October at the PDEA Academy in Silang, Cavite.
Cacdac said the seventh batch of DEOs taking the basic course is set to graduate next month.
He said the 500 applicants would be trimmed down and those remaining would have to undergo rigorous training.
DEOs will have an entry level position of Intelligence Officer 1, with Salary Grade 11.
