MANILA, Philippines — Bureau of Immigration Commissioner Siegfred Mison queued at the Immigration counters in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) upon arrival from an official trip from the United States on Saturday.
While having his passport cleared at NAIA Terminal 3, Mison also inspected the effectiveness of Immigration personnel in the international airport.
The bureau said in a statement Monday that Mison was following President Aquino's "No Wangwang" policy, which he declared in his first State of the Nation Address in 2010.
Mison was in the US with several officials to visit the Customs and Border Protection Inspection Facilities at the Los Angeles International Airport and LA/LB Seaport.
The agency said last week it will deploy 160 additional immigration officials to NAIA as five international airlines prepare for their eventual transfer there.
"We have augmented our existing manpower complement in NAIA 3 to properly meet the influx of passengers from the additional flights," Bureau of Immigration NAIA Terminal 3 head Mary Ann Velasco said.
