MANILA, Philippines - Former President and Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has increased her wealth by P16.2 million, based on her statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN).
For 2013, she valued her real properties at P75.4 million and personal properties at P211.4 million, for a total of P286.8 million in assets. She had liabilities amounting to P150 million, for a net worth of P136.8 million.
In 2012, based on the SALN summaries released by the House of Representatives, she had P77.9 million in real properties and P192.6 million in personal properties, for a total of P270.5 million in assets.
She reported liabilities of P150 million, for a net worth of P120.5 million.
This was P11 million lower than her net worth of P131.6 million in 2011, when she valued her assets at P231.6 million, with real properties worth P76.9 million and P154.8 million in personal properties. She had P100 million in liabilities.
On June 30, 2010, the day she ended her nine-year presidency, Arroyo reported her net worth at P142.4 million. She had minimal payables or liabilities, which amounted to P134,006.17.
Four years later, and under detention at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City, she is deep in debt to the tune of P150 million. But she is still among the richest House members.
Her congressman-son Diosdado, who represents the second district of Camarines Sur, increased his net worth slightly from P86.2 million in 2012 to P86.5 million in 2013.
He valued his assets last year at P128.5 million and liabilities at P42 million.
In 2012, he had assets worth P127.4 million and liabilities of P41.2 million.
