Next CBCP head supports fund-raising campaign for poor dioceses

- Evelyn Macairan -

MANILA, Philippines - Archbishop Jose Palma of Cebu, incoming president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), has expressed his support for a fund-raising campaign for poor dioceses initiated by former Manila mayor Lito Atienza and election lawyer Romulo Macalintal.

Palma allowed the group of Atienza and Macalintal, who came to Cebu over the weekend to expand the fund drive, to solicit contributions from parishioners who attended last Sunday’s masses at the Sto. Rosario Parish Church. At least P23,691 was collected.
