MANILA, Philippines - No weather disturbance will affect the country in the next three days except for local rainshowers and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (Pagasa) said yesterday.
Pagasa administrator Prisco Nilo said generally good weather would prevail over the country after tropical storm “Ramil” (international name Lupit) continued to move away from the Philippine area of responsibility yesterday.
“We expect generally good weather in the country in the next three days. But isolated rainshowers could prevail in some areas due to local effects,” Nilo said in a phone interview.
As of 4 p.m. yesterday, the eye of Ramil was spotted some 780 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes or at 175 km southeast of Okinawa, Southern Japan.
Ramil had maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near center and gustiness of up to 120 kph.
