The concert series concludes with a performance by the Metro Manila Community Orchestra under the baton of Josefino "Chino" Toledo at the Quezon City Memorial Circle on Sunday at 6 p.m. Opening with Abelardos Cinderella Suite, the orchestra will be joined by acclaimed thespian Pinky Amador and the Animo Shadowplay Collective for Prokofievs delightful Peter and the Wolf, the Miriam Ballet for Khachaturians Gayne Suite, pianists Jet Gemora and Andrea Mae Tamayo for Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals.
The MMCO is a project under the IODP and is composed of 48 registered musicians whose ages range froim 15 to 48 years and who come from different backgrounds. Some are high school, college and conservatory students, while others are business professionals, government employees and retirees. These avid musicians meet at Miriam College twice a week to work on a vast orchestral repertoire ranging from classical pieces to works by traditional Filipino composers and contemporary works by living Filipino composers.
