Two Iranian lovers barred at NAIA

Two Iranians were stopped at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Tuesday after they presented fake Italian passports to immigration officers.
Ahmad Aony, 47, and Zolikha Rosatami, 30, who pretended to be lovers, initially told immigration officers they would be spending their honeymoon in the country before flying to the United States.
However, they broke down during interrogation and presented their Iranian passports, which they used in entering Bangkok, Thailand where they bought the fake Italian passports for $1,000 each.
After interrogation, the two Iranians were put aboard a Thai Airways plane for the return flight to Bangkok.
US anti-terrorist agents assigned at NAIA tried to arrest Aony and Rosatami on suspicion that they were terrorists, but their plane had already taken off.
Immigration intelligence agent Rudy David said Aony and Rosatami were holding hands and kissing each other while lining up at the immigration counter to have their passports and visas checked to throw off suspicion from them.
On the contrary, David said immigration officers became suspicious because "there was an unmistakable lack of luster" in the eyes of Rosatami while she was kissing and hugging Aony.
David said the two were taken out of the queue and escorted to an interrogation room where they were asked why they were carrying Italian passports when they didnt look like Europeans.
They were also told that they didnt appear to be lovers because Rosatamis responses to the kisses and hugs of Aony were "not spontaneous" and that she was just kissing Aony for "the sake of it," David added. Rey Arquiza
