Interior and Local Government Secretary Alfredo Lim painted the right house on 1032 Yuseco (formerly Tayabas) street in Tondo, Western Police District director Chief Superintendent Avelino Razon Jr. said yesterday.
Razon said based on records from the District Special Project Unit under Superintendent Carlos Baltazar, Lim spray-painted the house of a family of suspected drug peddlers.
He believes that Richard Mamucod and his siblings, who are residents of 1032 Yuseco street, were able to flee after receiving advance information that Lim would spray-paint their house.
The Mamucods cannot deny the fact that they are peddling illegal drugs, he added.
In his report, Baltazar said Richard was arrested on March 19, 1997 and on April 29, 1999. He is facing two counts of drug charges in court.
His brother, Wilfredo was arrested for drug pushing on Nov. 15, 1994. He was able to post bail, but police re-arrested him on March 21, 1997. His two cases are still being heard in court.
Their third sibling, Andy, was nabbed on Jan. 22, 1998 and June 17, 1999 for the same drug-related charges. His two cases are likewise pending.
A fourth brother, Rolando, was also arrested for drug charges on June 17, 1999. His case is undergoing trial. The fifth Mamucod brother, Julius, was nabbed on April 26, 1999. His case is scheduled to be tried in court beginning Monday next week.
Earlier reports said Richard is set to file a complaint against Lim before the Senate. He said that he was framed up and that evidence against him was planted.
