Alleged drug dealer shot in Caloocan

A suspected drug trafficker was killed while his companion was wounded in a shootout with agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Caloocan City last Wednesday night.

The slain suspect was identified only as a certain "Sabuding" while his companion who remains unidentified, managed to elude arrest and is now being hunted by police.

According to CIDG director Chief Superintendent Lucas Managuelod, the shootout happened at about 7:30 p.m. at the Cefels Park Subdivision Makatipu.

Managuelod said that prior to the incident, CIDG agents under Superintendent Carlos Flores proceeded to the subdivision to check on a tip from a certain Melchor Pacheco, a subdivision resident about the rampant peddling of shabu by the slain suspect's group.

The agents managed to conduct a test buy with the suspect and decided to conduct an entrapment operation. Sabuding reportedly learned about the entrapment and even threatened to kill Pacheco. --
