Kylie Padilla, Miguel Tanfelix team up in 1st buddy cop show

MANILA, Philippines — Kylie Padilla and Miguel Tanfelix strike as an odd pair on TV, but their first show together is primed to be a “buddy cop” with good chemistry.
Kylie is no stranger to doing action shows and her stunts on her past TV shows, including the recently-concluded high fantasy series “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.”
For the actress, she sees her team-up with Miguel as one with good chemistry as they try to uncover cybercrimes, identity theft and scams in “Taskforce Firewall.”
“First time working with Miguel Tanfelix and buddy cop ang relationship namin dito. Ganda rin chemistry onscreen. Mahusay siya na artista,” Kylie said at the show’s recent presscon held in GMA-7.
She plays Isa Cervantes, the lead of Firewall, a group that fights cybercrimes.
Miguel, meanwhile, has been introduced as former soldier Galo Villareal in Dingdong Dantes’ action thriller “Master Cutter,” which premiered weeks ago. GMA-7 continues to produce shows that are somehow connected to each other, such as their other shows "Widow's War" and "Royal Blood," the latter also starring Dingdong.
Miguel’s Galo is a former soldier who deals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The events in "Taskforce Firewall," which will premiere tomorrow night, May 25, on GMA-7 takes place after Galo retires as a soldier.
Miguel, the former child star who also joined the Encantadia multiverse via the “Mulawin” shows, said he is both excited and challenged to star in his first hard action.
“Maraming naging experiences si Galo sa pagiging militar niya at dala-dala niya ‘yung trauma na ‘yun hanggang sa mag-retire siya at mahanap ‘yung pamilya niya sa Firewall,” Miguel said.
As proof of his dedication, the once clean-looking Miguel has transformed into a young man with facial hair and long hair.
“Binabase ang look ko sa magiging character ko… Ngayon may PTSD ang character ko so ‘yung look ang medyo hindi nakakapag-shave, mahaba ‘yung buhok, walang masyadong time para alagaan ‘yung sarili dahil meron siyang ibang bagay na iniintindi bukod ang kanyang sarili,” Miguel explained.
Apart from Kylie and Miguel, the show also stars Jak Roberto, Kyline Alcantara, Buboy Villar, Allen Dizon, Glenda Garcia, Ana Abad Santos, Rodjun Cruz, Shayne Sava, Lexi Gonzales, John Vic de Guzman, Cheska Fausto and Dominic Ochoa.
It is directed by Rico Gutierrez, with associate director Mark Kevin De Vela.
“Taskforce Firewall” airs right after “The Master Cutter” on GMA-7.
