Barretto matriarch Inday Barretto dies at 89

MANILA, Philippines — Barretto matriarch Inday Barretto has died. She was 89.

Born Estrella Barretto, she was known as Mommy Inday in showbiz circles.

She was mother to actors Gretchen, Marjorie and Claudine Barretto, and grandmother to actress Julia Barretto.

"Oh, mom," Claudine wrote with a broken heart emoji on Instagram earlier tonight.

"We're gonna be okay, I promise," she wrote in another post.

Her brother, JJ, also posted a lit candle on his social media.

The cause of her death and further details were not revealed by the Barretto siblings as of this writing.

Claudine revealed in 2024 that her mother was diagnosed with Lupus.

Claudine posted a clip of her mother confined in the hospital.
