Belle Mariano: Doubters don’t really matter
MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya star Belle Mariano got real and candid as she played red flag or green flag with The STAR during the recently-held She Slays 2025: Girlcoded Convention at the Concourse, One Ayala in Makati.
Belle likewise shared her wisdom and offered advice when asked about her take on different situations.
For Belle, saying yes to an opportunity even if she’s not 100-percent ready is both a red and green flag.
“I mean, it’s good that sometimes we put ourselves in situations that we’re uncomfortable with. That’s a green flag for me because it allows us to grow,” she explained.
“Pero naman, if you’re really unsure about it, why would you do something that (makes) you doubt yourself, right? But it’s good for me siguro. Baka in between ako. It’s both good and it’s nice that we test our limits and we get out of our box, you know?”
Belle also pointed out the importance of working in silence instead of openly proving your worth to doubters.
“Green flag. Of course, I think… We seek our identities and we seek validation within ourselves and through our faith and through you guys, our supporters,” she stressed.
“So these doubters and these people really don’t matter. Like, you take their criticism as something that would help you grow. But you don’t have to prove anything to them because you know who you are.”
She continued, “Don’t let them hinder you from growing. And don’t let them hinder you from achieving whatever it is you want and whatever is destined for you. Because it’s your story to tell and it’s not theirs.”
When asked what she thought about a person waiting for someone else’s text instead of just expressing what they feel, Belle had a straightforward answer: “If you wanna say something and it’s really important. Go! Why not? Why will you stop yourself?”
“So, feeling ko, ‘wag kana magpa-bebe!” she added in jest.
For her, communication is the key to a good relationship. “So, if you communicate well, you’d find that harmony and balance between the both of you. And if you’re just gonna be like, no, I’m fine, even if you’re not fine, you have to be open about it. And that’s the beauty of being in a relationship,” she added.
Meanwhile, fresh off her Belle of the Ball moment at the ABS-CBN Ball 2025, the Star Magic artist scored a new endorsement deal as the newest Belo Baby. In a media release, she was personally handpicked by celebrity doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho Jr. as the newest face of the brand’s “signature aesthetic — clean, classic and confidently natural” with skin “effortlessly camera-ready.”
She now joins fellow Gen Z stars Francine Diaz and Andrea Brillantes, as well as P-pop girl BINI, who recently led the Belo ADVALight campaign, as endorsers.
