MANILA, Philippines — Marvel is bringing back the mutants of the X-Men to the small screen after dropping the first trailer for "X-Men '97."
The show is a continuation of "X-Men: The Animated Series" which ran from 1992 to 1997, hence the new title for its revival.

The trailer begins on an old-school television with clips of how the original series concluded, the demise of Charles Xavier, before the iconic theme by Shuki Levy (accompanied by Haim Saban) transitions into the show's new events.
Professor X's death will serve as a major thrust for the series as the remaining X-Men must face more dangerous challenges without their valiant leader.
Quick clips show people protesting against mutants, a speech at the United Nations, giant Sentinel robots, and the X-Men gathering beneath Xavier Institute as teased by looks of Cyclops, Gambit, Storm, and Wolverine.
"We get this done by working together as team," says Cyclops as he pilots the X-Wing, to which Wolverine replies, "Geez bub, keep buzzing in my ear!"
More X-Men characters are revealed including Jubilee, Jean Grey, Beast, Bishop, and Rogue.
"To me, my X-Men!" exclaims Cyclops as his fellow mutants rally behind him. Closing the trailer is the reveal that Magneto, holding Charles Xavier's will, was bequeathed everything his rival and friend built.
Reprising their voice roles from the original series are Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler, Chris Potter as Cable, Christopher Britton as Mister Sinister, and Catherine Disher as Valerie Cooper.
New additions include Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Matthew Waterson as Magneto,, Holly Chou as Jubilee, A. J. LoCascio as Gambit, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Gui Agustini as Sunspot, J. P. Karliak as Morph, and Ross Marquand as Professor X.
Theo James, Jeff Bennett, and Anniwaa Buachie have reportedly been cast in undisclosed roles — the former as a fan-favorite character — while X-Men characters Emma Frost, Sebastian Shaw, and Bolivar Trask are all expected to appear.
