Pinky Amador and Chuckie Dreyfus have always been willing to share stories that would make people want to listen.

Showbiz-watchers are well-aware that Pinky is currently single, while Chuckie is happily married to Aileen and they are blessed with two children.

On a scale of one to 10, with 10 being the highest, Pinky gave a nine on how happy she is about her love life.

“Kasi nga wala, hahahaha. Self-love,” the seasoned film, TV and theater actress amusingly declared.

To be happy in love, she added, does not always rely on having a partner.

“Survival. I think that makes it. I know I need to survive even if I am alone. Both my parents have passed and I have one sibling who is in Canada,” said she. “You have to make things work. You have to love what you do; you have to wake up in the morning and have that gusto and passion for life.”

Chuckie quipped that he could help in finding the right guy for Pinky, his co-star in Abot Kamay Ang Pangarap and his perennial “kakulitan” on TikTok videos. “Hahanapan kita,” he joked.

Kidding-aside, Chuckie believes one has to let love happen naturally. When one is not looking for love, that is when the right person tends to appear and enter into your life unexpectedly.

“I guess, people who want to find love but have not found love yet, love comes kumbaga you can’t force it. Mangyayari at mangyayari ‘yan, it may happen now or it may happen 10 or 20 years but it will happen, maybe in the most unexpected way. It can be somebody who will be your lifelong partner, it can be a friend who is there for you all the time.”

Pinky has been through some relationships and so I asked if she is the type who is looking for love or she is just letting love find her come what may.

Chuckie Dreyfus shares that one has to let love happen naturally.

“I think at this point in my life, come what may na tayo. Hindi ba nakakapagod na rin maghanap. For me, even if you’re in a relationship but you’re not happy with yourself, then you cannot make your family or your partner happy,” Pinky averred.

Is she wishing to have someone right now or in the future?

“I think at this point, I’m content with my life. When someone comes (along), why not.”

Meanwhile, Pinky and Chuckie are happy at the rate things are going in their respective acting careers. The former has been around the local entertainment industry for four decades now while the latter was once a matinee idol who returned to acting after a 15-year break.

Pinky is articulate and witty. She has worked on her image in addition to making wise decisions. If you’ll look back over the years, you’ll notice that she has been able to excellently portray any character given to her – on screen and on stage.

Without a doubt, Pinky is one of the most celebrated actors in the country. What some want to know is if there was a time when she told herself that she deserved more.

“It’s not what I deserve from showbiz, it’s more of what I can give more to showbiz, kung marami ka pang ibubuga. If you can still give more, if there is still so much more you can share or if there are still a lot of things that you want to discover, if you’re adventurous and all that, I think it’s limitless. I think that’s what keeps me in the business for 40 years,” she declared.

These days, viewers of the GMA afternoon drama series, Abot Kamay Na Pangarap, “hate” her so much for her portrayal as the contravida Moira Tanyag. Her co-star Chuckie, who plays Raymund, didn’t deny about feeling “so irritated” whenever Pinky is in character.

Chuckie began as a child star and eventually, he became part of That’s Entertainment but left the show in 1997 “because there was a transition. Hindi ma-accept ng tao na nag-ma-mature na ako.”

“I was doing mature roles but people would still see me as a child actor and because of that, I wasn’t taken seriously. So, I took a break. I think it lasted for 15 years,” he said.

“But I never really left. I just went behind the cameras. I put up a recording studio and started doing music for film and TV. I also did musical directing,” shared Chuckie who slowly became visible again when he joined GMA 7’s Survivor Philippines.
