Why I am proud of Bianca, Mariel and Drew Boy abunda

I am indubitably proud of what Bianca Gonzalez, Mariel Rodriguez and Drew Arellano have accomplished in their personal lives and careers. How time flies! I first met them at the beginning of their careers as young talents of Backroom, my former PR and artists management company. They were bright-eyed, talented, “hungry” and curious. They wanted to get into the entertainment industry as hosts. (Mariel also wanted to be the next Claudine Barretto.)

And they did but it wasn’t easy. They put in a lot of hard work, humility, humanity into their journey. Even today they remain open to learning new tricks and imagining new dreams.

Now, they are sought-after hosts while they continue discovering their personal styles, broadening their points of views and building their own happy families.

A lot of beautiful things are happening to Bianca’s life and she is more than grateful for all her blessings. Bianca found her happily ever after in basketball player JC Intal. The couple’s teamwork balances parenthood and their respective careers. They are happily raising their two beautiful daughters Lucia and Carmen.

Bianca revels in the joy of fulfilling her mommy duties. The girls have now reached that stage when they observe and imitate what they see from their elders. Bianca once said in an interview that parenthood has taught her to be gentler with Lucia and Carmen because they emulate what they see and take in the feelings of those who are close to them.

“It’s important to be more calm, more gentle, more loving because the way we show that to them is how they will be to other people as well.”

Just as Bianca believes in the importance of responsible parenting, she underscores the need for accountability and etiquette of social media users. Bianca is adept at social media and utilizes it as an effective platform for her various causes. In fact, she is one of the most followed and most watched personalities in the digital world. As an influencer and brand ambassador, she puts to good use the immense power of social media. Through her social media accounts, Bianca gives the public a glimpse of her private life, her beauty and parenting tips, her no-nonsense observations and comments on social issues, among others.

Motherhood, indeed, becomes Mariel. She considers it as a lifetime commitment and one of the greatest gifts she has received from God. Her contentment is written all over her face. She relishes every bonding moment she has with husband Robin Padilla and lovely daughters Isabella and Gabriela. A hands-on mom, Mariel shares, “Having daughters has taught me to be truly selfless. You would be surprised what lengths you can do for your children. They are limitless.”

Mariel is one supermom who juggles homemaking, taking care of her children and working. She also attests to the importance of having a “me” time for herself.

“It is so important because ‘me’ comes last all the time. So when ‘me’ time comes, it’s oh wow!”

Like other celebrities, Mariel rises to the millennium’s digital challenge. She regularly shares snapshots of her family life on social media. Mariel captures them in videos and photos for posterity.

Mariel loves hosting because she gets to interact with people from all walks of life. As a host, she is known for her pure adrenaline and signature laughter which is unbelievably infectious.

Drew is having the time of his life visiting fascinating places as a travel show host of Biyahe ni Drew. Filipinos learn not to be strangers in their own country through the show. Drew is thankful to have this kind of job where he can travel as well as learn about destinations and its people — their history, culture and tradition. He courageously climbs steep mountains, crawls through caves, jumps from cascading waterfalls, explores the underwater for marine life and eats exotic cuisine, among other adventures. Meanwhile, Drew shares interesting facts and trivia in AHA!, an infotainment program also on GMA 7.

“As a television host, I have responsibilities to the viewing public. The shows that I host must be wholesome, educational and values-oriented. I also learn from doing my shows. I am blessed to be given this wonderful opportunity to be in an industry I love the most.”

He has traveled great distances in his career as an award-winning host and Drew gets his strength and motivation from his family. On the home front, Drew enjoys his role as a loving husband to Iya Villania and doting father to adorable tykes Primo and Leon who both have caught the netizens’ attention on social media with their awesome photos and antics. Baby No. 3 is also on the way.

Their family was in Australia for the Christmas holidays last year when Drew received the good news from Iya. Primo and Leon were opening their gifts when he received a present from Iya. The message on a red envelope read “Love, ready for baby #3?” and included an ultrasound photo dated Dec. 14.

Iya is a host of Mars Pa More (together with Camille Prats) and a Chika Minute segment host of 24 Oras both on the Kapuso channel.
