Gari Escobar’s trials in life inspired him to write songs
Gari didn’t dream to become a songwriter, much less a recording artist, but Nora Aunor had much to do with this achievement of his.

Singer Gari Escobar finally realized his dream to be a recording artist and he held a press conference recently to announce it.

His self-titled album has Ivory Records & Video as publisher and distributor, with Vehnee Saturno joining him as album producer. The album is composed of 12 tracks, 10 of them written by Gari, starting with the carrier single Baguio. Vehnee contributed the song Dito sa Piling Ko and Tony Rodeo wrote Ayoko Na Sa’yo.

Gari didn’t dream to become a songwriter, much less a recording artist, but Nora Aunor had much to do with this achievement of his. He is a great fan of the superstar since he was young and he followed her life story closely. Every time the veteran actress suffered setbacks and had negative reports written and reported about her, Gari felt the pain even more than his idol.

It was because of this and because of his own trials in life that Gari was inspired to write songs. He said he has written about 60 songs, including those in his maiden album.

It was for being an ardent Nora Aunor fan that he was made fun of and ridiculed, especially in social media where he constantly got bashed by heartless netizens who called him “pangit.” He got hurt immensely and this could have broken his determination but instead it inspired Gari even more to write songs.

When Gari went up the economic ladder, he even produced a radio program on DWBL “Superstar Yan” which he hosted with his sister. Through the program, Nora Aunor songs were played continuously “para hindi siya malimutan ng mga fans, especially when she went abroad,” Gari said.

By the way, Gari’s album is available on Spotify, iTunes and in all digital stores worldwide.
