Daniel Radcliffe on turning 30: 'A little weird'

MANILA, Philippines —  “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe is turning 30 on July 23. 

It has been 18 years since the British actor was cast as the boy wizard in one of the biggest movie series of all time. 

In an exclusive recent phone interview with Philstar.com, Daniel shared how it is to be leaving his 20s and what he looks forward to almost 20 years since “Harry Potter.”

“A little weird, but it’s fine, I’m not sure how I’m gonna think of myself (as 30) for a while, but yeah, it’s happening. I suppose I should get used to it… But right now, I absolutely feel fine about it,” Daniel told Philstar.com.

What would be his 30th birthday wish?

“Honestly, just to keep the life that I’m living. I really enjoy the work, the people that I get to work with. I enjoy each day, my friends, the people that I love, and my family. Yeah, that I may be able to carry on. So yeah, not to be able to stay the same, but to carry on along the same track.”

Radcliffe stars in the new romantic comedy “Miracle Workers,” a limited, seven-episode series that aims to “turn the perception of heaven on its head while also making the case that humans are worth saving.”

Radcliffe plays Craig, a low-level angel responsible for handling all of humanity's prayers. Steve Buscemi plays Craig's boss, God, who has pretty much checked out to focus on petty hobbies. 

To prevent Earth's destruction, Craig and fellow angel Eliza (Geraldine Viswanathan) must answer a seemingly impossible prayer: help two humans, Laura and Sam (played by Sasha Compere and Jon Bass), fall in love.

Available in the Philippines through Warner TV, “Miracle Workers” is created by “Man Seeking Woman” creator Simon Rich. It is executive produced by Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer of Michaels’ Broadway Video, along with Rich, Radcliffe and Buscemi. Broadway Video produces the series in association with Turner’s Studio T.
