MANILA, Philippines — ABS-CBN has responded to a controversy involving a blind finalist of “It’s Showtime’s” “Tawag ng Tanghalan.”

Recently, stage director Paul Ballano posted on his Facebook account that the singing competition’s finalist, Carl Malone Montecido, has not yet received his prize money from the competition and the PWD is asking for his help.

In a report by PEP.ph, Paul said that the Kapamilya network, through Laurenti Dyogi, assured that they will settle the problem.

Paul added that ABS-CBN said that while it did not take two years to pay Montecido’s prize, the network admitted that it still owes Carl some talent fees from his TV and mall shows.

In a new Facebook post, Paul said that he already received the checks of Carl and he thanked the network giant for its fast response.

“At last.. Carl Malone through his Tito got his checks now. Thank you ABSCBN s inyong pag aksyon s post ko. No more fighting just love,” the stage director wrote.

He added that they will just wait for the checks from Carl’s Genaral Santos and Zamboanga events.

“Sa mga nasaktan, nagallit, nainis at naipit. We r sorry but what is important is the waiting is now over. This picture was taken by their staff and i posted it here. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!” he added.
