WATCH: Paulo Avelino shares hardship in filming 'Goyo'

MANILA, Philippines — “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral,” touted as "the historical epic film of the year," released the movie’s new trailer on Wednesday.

Paulo Avelino, who played the character role, said that the movie was an amazing experience for him but at the same time, it is one of the hardest films he has done.

“It was definitely an amazing experience but at the same time it’s hard to mount because imagine that’s one of the hardest things to do when worked with like 300, 500 or a thousand people. Ang hirap i-block, ang hirap ayusin, ang init pa ng set namin, so may iba talagang napapagod, naiinitan, hinihimatay, pero ‘yon, it’s an amazing experience,” the Kapamilya actor told Philstar.com in a recent interview during Paulo's launch as Berocca ambassador.

Avelino admitted that playing Goyo definitely changed him as an actor.

“We’ve learned from every project. 'Yun nga, as the saying goes, ‘You are as good as your last project.’ I tried to constantly give something different every time I tackle a new role,” he said.

Written and directed by Jerrold Tarog, "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral" will be opening in theaters nationwide on September 5. — Video by EC Toledo IV
