Coco Martin stars in his first full comedy film

Coco Martin stars in his first full comedy film, “Beauty and the Bestie,” his 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival entry with Vice Ganda.

MANILA, Philippines – Coco Martin had a lot of firsts in doing the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Beauty and the Bestie.”

For one, it was his first time to work with his best friend Vice Ganda in a film. They’ve worked for a while in the defunct ABS-CBN fantasy series “Juan dela Cruz.”

This is also the first time that Coco worked on a full comedy film. Early this year he did “You’re My Boss,” a romantic-comedy film with Toni Gonzaga.

“Ibang experience,” he said about doing a full comedy film. “Alam mo ‘yong pwede pala ‘yong uuwi ka sa bahay, masaya. Hindi naman sa naglaro, na hindi sineseryo, pero kasi walang pressure.”

“Masarap na bilang artista minsan sa buhay mo naranasan mong gumawa ng iba’t ibang pelikula,” added the Kapamilya actor who is known for his dramatic and action-filled projects.

Meanwhile, Coco was asked if Vice Ganda is currently in a relationship.

The “Ang Probinsyano” star kept mum about it, but simply said that “ayaw muna kasi niya buksan ulit ang puso niya.”

Although he’s not meddling with Vice’s relationships as much as before, Coco said what’s important to him is “masaya siya, basta lagi siyang safe at ‘wag siyang sasaktan.”
