Body Talk with Andrea Torres

Launched last Sept. 19, the coffee-table book Andrea Torres: Road Trip is calculated to take readers on a “sensual adventure” with the Kapuso siren who made waves when she first appeared on the cover of FHM Philippines’ December 2014 issue and eventually shot to the second spot in this year’s FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World list.

Photographed by Jay Tablante, Road Trip showcases Andrea in various locations of a “secret hideaway…letting readers imagine just what a trip with her would be like.” What you will find is an Andrea Torres far different from the role she plays in the GMA Friday-night gag show Bubble Gang.

Copies of the book should be available by now in all leading bookstores and magazine stands nationwide. Her first international movie with Mikael Daez, Blood In Dispute (BID), is set for release locally soon.

How did you prepare for your role in Blood In Dispute?

“As in all my programs, I studied the script, the story and my character. I put extra effort dito sa BID ’coz we worked with a Canadian director and iba ‘yung ways nila sa production. It’s very different from what we are accustomed to here in the Philippines. At least, even if there were adjustments, I think I was able to do my role very well. I had so much fun! It was a nice learning experience.”

How did you prepare for Road Trip?

“The usual, two weeks of strict diet and gym. I really tried to have the best body that I could pull off kasi it’s a hundred pages of all my photos during our trip and I want everyone to see me as beautiful as I could be. So, parang kung hindi ko ‘yun magawa, sayang ‘yung opportunity. It’s a good thing that I was able to hit my goal. My trainer really encouraged me to be at my best shape before the shoot. Before, when I’d go on a strict diet, they told me that I was super payat. This time, I made sure that I had more laman pero fit pa rin.”

How did the pictorial go; how did you feel during the shoot?

“We all had fun during the pictorial.  Parang namasyal lang kami and we took pictures along the way and it didn’t feel like work. I felt so comfortable; Jay made me feel that he was there for the art. We went around Tagaytay lang, tapos kung saan lang namin matripan, doon na kami magsu-shoot. Spontaneous. Para lang kaming naglalaro. Actually, he wanted everything to be candid.”

What kind of workout do you do?

“Mostly weights. I don’t do much cardio because it tends to make my face and my arms look smaller.”

What part of your body needs improvement?

“My arms; they are so thin. So kailangan pang lagyan ng muscle.”

Part of a man’s body that you notice first?

“Chest and arms. Hindi masyado importante sa akin ‘yung six-pack, basta maganda ‘yung chest and arms.”

What about your diet?

“If I don’t have a shoot, I eat anything. I love to eat, eh. But I try to eat healthy, mostly vegetables and fruits. Piling-pili lang talaga ‘yung food and the way they are cooked.”

What’s for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

“Normally, pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Lunch, usually rice with ulam or bread with pasta. Dinner, salad or anything light. Pero may dessert ako dapat palagi.”

Any snacks between meals?

“Not much. Three meals a day are enough for me.”

Any medicines/vitamins?

“Vitamin C, ‘yung gummy, four pieces every day.”

How much water do you take per day?

“Eight glasses. I drink lots of water especially if I have a shoot kasi iyak ako nang iyak kaya ayokong ma-dehydrate ako.”

How many pillows do you sleep with?

“Four. During tapings, I bring one or two with me.”

Favorite sleepwear?

“Silk night gown.”

Do you snore or sleepwalk?

“I used to sleepwalk, pero na-outgrow ko na siya. No, I don’t snore. Not that I know off. Tulog ako, eh. Hehehehe!”

Last thing that you do before you go to sleep?

“Watch TV. ‘Yun ‘yung pampatulog ko.”

First thing you do as soon as you wake up?

“Drink water. May naka-stand by na one glass sa bedside.”

How do you relax, cope with stress?

“I hit the gym or go shopping. Or I look for a restaurant with the best burger. Mahilig lang akong kumain sa labas. Mahilig din akong magpa-spa. Girly stuff.”

Favorite hideaway?

“My room lang. Kasi lahat ng gusto ko, nandoon. Ginawa ko siyang all-white, I designed it in such a way na mare-relax talaga ako at matatanggal agad ‘yung stress so that in between work I’m able to recharge. And easily accessible, di ba?”

Night life?

“Wala na, eh. I used to be active when  I was a teenager. But now, sleep na lang talaga.”

Outlook in life?

“I try to be positive in everything. I believe in the law of attraction, na kung anong ibinibigay mo sa universe, ‘yun ang bumabalik sa’yo.”

Three men that you think have nice bodies?

“Channing Tatum, Derek Ramsay and Zac Efron.”

And three women that you think have bodies as nice as yours?

“Beyoncé, Candice Swanepoel and Marian Rivera.”

Using only body language, how would you make a man know that you admire him?

“When I really like someone, I like to stare. Make eye contact and then smile at him. Actually, may pagka-shy ako. And if I am confident enough to smile at him, ‘yun na ‘yun.”
