MANILA, Philippines — Like a thorn off his chest.

This is what Piolo Pascual felt when Sharon Cuneta's recent statement that she regrets her previous rants against the actor.

It can be remembered that Sharon took to Twitter in 2012 to defend her daughter KC Concepcion months after the actress-TV host's breakup with Piolo.

But in a recent interview with showbiz news site Philippine Entertainment Portal, Sharon said she's happy with the recent reconciliation of KC and Piolo.

She added: "Siguro that time lang, hindi ka masasaktan kung hindi mo mahal yung tao, e... Pero tapos na 'yun. I'm very happy na okay na sila."

"It's like a thorn off my chest kung nagkakaroon ka ng mga ganun na nagkakaayos kayo, nagkakabati at nagkakapatawaran," Piolo told ABS-CBN's news program "Bandila" aired Wednesday.

He added: "Nakakataba rin ng puso... At the end of the day, tao rin naman tayong lahat. Nagpapatawad, nagmomove on."

Piolo also apologized to Sharon. "If there is anything I did to offend her and her family, I’m also sorry for it."

"Siyempre, just like what she said, nanay din, e. She’s entitled to that," he said.

"Humihingi ako ng tawad. Kasi hindi rin naman tayo perpekto," Piolo further said. "It's a courtesy. I mean, you know, respeto rin sa nakakatanda... Bakit naman makikipataasan ng pride?"

Piolo and KC, who broke up in 2011, recently patched things up in London.

"Napakaliit ng industriya natin, napakaliit ng mundo ng showbiz para magkaroon tayo ng kaaway," he said about mending fences with KC.
