Kris Aquino hints ‘changes’ in MMFF movie with Herbert Bautista
MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino confirms that the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Mr. & Mrs. Split” will push through, although with some changes.
It was earlier report that Kris will star with son Bimby and son Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista in the movie, which will be directed by Antoinette Jadaone.
“I want to make a categorical statement. It is pushing through, but there will be changes. Changes na I’m not allowed to mention kasi kailangan namin ng approval ng MMDA,” she replied when asked about the MMFF entry on Wednesday during the presscon of her upcoming film “Etiquette for Mistresses."
Speculations that "Mr. & Mrs. Split" may not push through surfaced online due to Kris' busy schedule. Apart from doing the daily morning show "Kris TV," Kris also did "Etiquette for Mistresses" the past few months.
When asked if Bautista will remain as her leading man, the Queen of All Media replied, “Categorically sabi ko I’m still involved kasi I can speak for myself, my son is involved because I’m his legal guardian but there will be additions to the cast and that’s it.”
Kris also admitted having a meeting with ABS-CBN executive Cory Vidanes about some issues she raised about the film.
“Gusto ko magpasalamat sa ABS-CBN dahil sa twenty years na nandito po ako pinapahalagahan nila kung anong importante sa akin while still believing in my respect and desire to fulfill my contract,” she said.
Kris also announced that she’s leaving the late-night talk show “Aquino and Abunda Tonight” due to health reasons.

Meanwhile, Kris is excited for her film “Etiquette for Mistresses” where she starred with Claudine Barretto, Kim Chiu, Iza Calzado, and Cheena Crab.
She admitted having hesitations at first to accept the role since “katakot-takot na endorsements ang baka masagasaan.” But after talking to ABS-CBN executive Malou Santos and director Chito Roño, she finally accepted the role.
“Humingi lang ako ng redemption, kasi alam ko na from the start, ‘yong character na ipo-portray ko hindi family values ang pino-promote. So sabi ko [kay direk], ‘bigyan mo naman ako ng pagkakataon na maituwid ang daan ko,’” she relates.
“Etiquette for Mistress” will be in cinemas on September 30.
