Saab Magalona not in a rush to have a baby

MANILA, Philippines – Saab Magalona is not in a rush to have a baby with husband Jim Bacarro.

The couple were married January this year and are enjoying their time together.

“I would like to travel pa and explore the world with my husband,” replied Saab when asked about her baby plans in a recent interview. “Siguro three to four years pa, I don’t feel any pressure to have kids.”

Although she admitted being pressured by the people around her, she would like them to understand that “we didn’t get married to have kids. We got married kasi we’re in love!”

“It’s kind of disheartening that some people don’t believe in true love anymore,” she added. “Some of my peers, they ask if I have a baby na, I say wala pa and they ask ‘why?’ I was like, as if that’s the only reason why you get married.”

Saab also admitted that somehow she still feels scared to become a mother.

“Kasi that’s another life, you know, and you’ll be responsible to that life at least until they turn eighteen. You are responsible to what they become even after they turned 18,” she explained.

However, the writer-host-actress was sure of one thing, “I would be a mother, but I’ll also be a friend, but mother first.”

Meanwhile, Saab is excited for the rerun of their play “No Filter” which is now dubbed “No Filter 2.0.”

She was happy for the feedback of their first show since many of their viewers were somehow enlightened how millennials think.

“We’re not here to change your viewpoints about millennials. We’re here to make you understand it just a little bit,” she said about the show. “It’s kind of like voyeurism, parang you get to see what we’re thinking when were not being watched.”

For the rerun of the show, Saab is still joined by Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Lauren Young, Mikael Daez, Cai Cortez, Sarah Facuri, Khalil Kaimo and Micah Muñoz. The additional cast includes Sam Concepcion, Paolo Valenciano and Carla Humphries.

“No Filter 2.0” will run from October 3 to 25 at the Power Mac Spotlight at the Circuit City in Makati City. The opening night is sponsored by Pia Magalona and Noel Ferrer as a tribute for Francis Magalona who will celebrate his birthday on October 4.
