MANILA, Philippines - It seems even the competition has taken notice of the AlDub fever.

In the Friday, September 11 episode of ABS-CBN's noontime show "It's Showtime," Vice Ganda mentioned "AlDub," the portmanteau of popular "Eat Bulaga" love team Alden Richards and Yaya Dub (played by Maine Mendoza).

"Eat Bulaga," of course, is GMA-7's noontime variety show and long-time competitor to "It's Showtime"

During the episode, Vice was teasing co-hosts Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro for their upcoming segment "Clash of Celebrities."

"Manalo naman kayo, please," Vice said.

He added: "Kung kinakailangan n'yong i-guest ang AlDub, gawin n'yo para manalo kayo."

Vice even did the "Pabebe Wave," the popular gesture of the AlDub love team.

The remark surprise Anne, Vhong, co-host Billy Crawford and even the studio audience of "It's Showtime."

Mentioning the names of the stars and shows of competing networks is not a norm in the local entertainment industry.

Vice and Anne have commented about "It's Showtime" competition with "Eat Bulaga" and AlDub. In a previous interview, Vice described the competition between the two shows as healthy.

Last week, Anne told Philstar.com and other members of the press that she thinks the competition between the two shows is "great" as it means there is interest in noontime shows.

"I think it's great. It goes to show that people are still into noontime shows. So I think it's great,” Anne said.
