MANILA, Philippines - Filipina-Scottish Cleo Margaret Brown was crowned as Miss Aviation Philippines 2015 last Feb. 10 at the Peninsula Manila in Makati City. Cleo was the youngest candidate at age 17 and is an Aviation Electronic Technology student at the Asian College of Aeronautics.
By winning the title, Cleo is following in the footsteps of actress Lotis Key and dancer-choreographer Joji Felix-Velarde. Her first duty after getting the crown is to represent the aviation community at the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF) with the theme Weekend of Everything that Flies at Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga happening until today.
Cleo’s runners-up were Lizl Louise Resoles (first, Miss Nisce Skin and Best in Catwalk) and Mica Angela Angeles (second and Miss Alluring Face). Other special awards were handed out to candidates Elaine Elago (Miss Personality), Lyra Velchez (Most Charming Face) and Dayna Lyn dela Vega (Best in Evening Gown).
Judges were composed of pageant director Morena Carla Cabrera-Quimpo, PIHABF director Capt. Joy Roa, former Miss Universe-Philippines 1985 Joyce Burton-Titular, Dr. Antoinette Nisce, Janice Trillo, Arthur Tugade Jr., lawyer Carmelo Arcilla, Jade Dy and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines director general Lt. Gen. William Hotchkiss (Ret.). The event was hosted by 2002 Miss Universe-Philippines Karen Agustin. — VER PAULINO
