MANILA, Philippines — James Yap is aware his son Bimby now has bashers, following his entry into show business.

But the cager said he's merely shrugging it off, saying the bashing and criticism come with the job.
"Tinatawanan ko na lang, kasi hindi mo naman hawak lahat ng isip ng tao. So, okay lang yun," he told members of the press during his launch as an endorser of grooming brand Grips Wax recently.
James added he has bashers of his own. "So tatawanan na lang yun. Mahirap naman kung papatulan dahil lalaki lang," he explained.
"Kapag nasa showbiz ka, hindi mo talaga hawak ang pag-iisip ng mga tao," James also said.
The basketball player is nonetheless proud of his seven-year-old son, who starred in two hit movies over the past two years.
"Masaya ako dahil nakikita niya yung suporta namin sa kanya," he said.
Bimby is James's son with TV host-actress Kris Aquino.
"Basta, stay happy," he said when asked for a message for Kris, who will celebrate her birthday on February 14.
James is currently in a relationship with Michaela Cazzola. The couple have been together for three years now, but admitted they are not yet planning to get married soon.
"Kasi, parang hindi n'yo naman alam... Yung mga napagdaanan ko, ang hirap, di ba?" he said.
"Walang trauma, hindi trauma. Basta ganun lang," James clarified. "Ang mahalaga ay nage-enjoy kami sa isa't isa, di ba?"
