After Jake, Andi not in rush for new relationship

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines - After her breakup with long-time boyfriend Jake Estrada, Andi Eigenmann said she wants to take it slow this time around.

This, after she admitted that actor Bret Jackson is currently courting her.

“Nothing has happened yet. It’s only the beginning,” she said when asked about Bret in an interview with ABS-CBN’s showbiz talk show “The Buzz” on Sunday. “And I just came out of long and very complicated relationship. I would want to take things slow.”

Asked to comment on reports that her mother Jaclyn Jose does not approve of Bret, Andi said: “Pwede naman n’ya sabihin what she wants. At the same  time, hindi pa naman niya nakikilala si Bret. She never really got the chance.”

She added, “And I know how close my mom is to my ex.... She loves Jake.”

Andi has been very vocal about feeling hurt over Jake and his reported new girlfriend KC del Rosario.

The 24-year-old actress said 2015 will be all about “starting anew” after the death of her father Mark Gil last year.

“Yung 2015, para sa akin hindi lang pagdating ng bagong taon. Syempre, bagong chapter din ng life ko because I lost someone, well, two people who are really important to me, di ba? Now, I just want to make sure na magiging masaya na ako,” she said.

Andi said she also wants to focus on work this year.

“Yun lang naman ang gusto ko, mag-focus sa trabaho para rin sa daughter ko, kay Ellie. I just want everything, this whole year, to be about me and her,” she said.

Andi is part of the upcoming horror movie "Tragic Theater," which opens this month.
