Megaworld welcomes Miss Earth 2014 bets at The Mactan Newtown

MANILA, Philippines - Megaworld welcomed the delegates of Miss Earth 2014 in its 28.8-hectare The Mactan Newtown in Lapu-Lapu City during their pre-pageant activities in Cebu over the weekend. The real estate developer’s The Mactan Newtown served as one of the host venues in the province to promote their advocacy in eco-tourism and to synergize the company’s environmental efforts in the township.

Megaworld has recently acquired a beachfront property to preserve the marine life in the area, while 148 mango trees have been planted along Megaworld Boulevard. The company also has plans to rehabilitate the famous Mactan Shrine into a bustling tourist attraction surrounded with retail and souvenir shops. The Mactan Newtown is also designed to minimize carbon footprint by integrating high-end office towers, luxury condominiums, lifestyle amenities, retail shops, a La Salle-supervised school and world-class hotels in one mixed-use development.
