Anne Curtis once in a Lifetime

- Kap Maceda Aguila - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Lifetime, a “premier female-focused entertainment destination dedicated to offering the highest-quality original programming spanning scripted series, non-fiction series and movies,” unveils a new magazine-type TV show for “it-girl” Anne Curtis. Dubbed F Word Out Loud with Anne Curtis, the show, says A+E Networks Asia country head Jacque Ruby, is the very first Lifetime show produced in the country. “It’s basically about what’s hot and trendy,” he described. “We feel that there is no better person to anchor this show than Anne Curtis who epitomizes what is fun, fashionable and hip.”

At the recent official launch of the show, Anne expressed elation at being given the unique opportunity. “It’s a channel that I have been fan of for a long time, and the quality of programs they come out with just amazes me. I am very, very excited to be working with Lifetime.”

Responding to a question from The STAR, Anne said, “This is definitely a first for me — to be able to do a magazine-style lifestyle show. I’ve done hosting, singing, dancing, acting, so this is different for me. I am actually quite nervous because it’s a whole different market. For now, this is all I can think of that I have not done. Let’s see how I go with this before I think of something else… baby steps.”

Anne averred that Manila is one of the “most quirky and interesting places in the planet,” adding, “I think it’s great that Lifetime wants to feature a different side (of) it. They want to show that we are actually hip and trendy… And it’s perfect for me because I’m out loud!”

F Word Out Loud affords an insider’s perspective on the “lives of trendy Filipinos” and the “city experience.” Anne will be the host on the ground, guiding the viewers through adventures in fashion, food and fun. In a release, Lifetime revealed that viewers can expect a journey through art and local entertainment, “fashionistas and furniture designers,” microbrewing, micro-roasting and anything from the “finest hotel to the simplest streetside café.” Anne also hinted of a visit to Divisoria, and revealed that she has gotten leads on hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Manila courtesy of boyfriend Erwann Heussaff, who’s a chef and restaurateur.

The show will be taped in English, and subtitled when necessary — which means it will be shown outside of the Philippines. Ruby looks forward to take F Word Out Loud forward beyond its committed six episodes. Anne is equally excited to do so. “Yes, of course! Right now, I am still nervous and I have yet to see how I am able to excel, but that’s why I really want to do well so that, maybe, hopefully, it can go beyond six parts.”

A+E Networks Asia’s Jacque remarked that Lifetime, along with sister channel History, have both been afforded the latitude of coming up with dedicated feeds for the Philippine market. “That means we can tailor-fit our programming in order to make it palatable to the taste of Filipino viewers. That’s how optimistic we are with the Philippines.”

To drum up awareness for Anne’s forthcoming show, Lifetime recently arranged a well-attended meet-and-greet event at the TriNoma mall in Quezon City. Production of the show is slated to start in the latter part of this month and will wrap up in December. F Word Out Loud will premiere in the second quarter of 2015.

Lifetime is available on SkyCable SD Ch. 65 and HD Ch. 199, Destiny Cable analog Ch. 44 and Digital Ch. 65, CableLink Ch. 223, Dream Satellite TV Ch. 10 and other select provincial channels. Launched in the Philippines in October last year, Lifetime is an extension of A+E Network’s foray into the general entertainment space.
