MANILA, Philippines - Bela Padilla has a lot to be happy about even as the year is nearing to its end because she has been blessed with several projects.
Among the projects she's working on is the independent film “Barbara,” an American remake of the Filipino horror film “Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara.”
Bela is working with Maxene Eigenmann and Guji Lorenzana and foreign actors in the film.
“It’s a little bit customized for American audience,” she said about the film, in a recent interview with philstar.com. “‘Yong script iniba nila, so mas realistic, hindi ‘yong typical horror na medyo alam mo na kapag dadating ‘yong multo, mape-predict mo. Ito medyo mas scary.”
The film will be shown first abroad before it is even brought to the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Bela also have several projects with her home network GMA. She’s the current host of “Day Off” and she just did an episode of “Wagas” with Alex Medina.
“It’s a very interesting episode, it’s a story of a nun and a priest who both left their beliefs to become NPAs, tapos parang they fall in love,” she said. “It’s nice that they give me roles na different, off-beat so I get to try new things.”
Aside from this, she’s supposed to work on a new teleserye with the Kapuso network, but decided to fix her contract first with them, which will end on January next year.
Although staying with the network is an option, Bela would like to know first their plans for her in the coming years.
As a breather from her hectic showbiz career, Bela and her friends will launch a clothing line with a working name “Wear It.”
“On Instagram, every time I post an OOTD [outfit of the day] people always ask me where I bought my top, my jeans, ganyan. So why not give them something that they can wear at a cheaper price,” she replied when asked how they came up with the business.
Most of the clothes that they will be selling are street wear that if accessorized properly could be used for formal events.
As the line launches in December, it will also come with a mobile application to enhance the people’s online shopping experience.
