Living with Christ Phl edition as IEC 2016 liturgy publication partner
MANILA, Philippines - Archbishop Jose Palma, chairman of the International Eucharistic Congress (IEC) 2016, hailed Living with Christ, Philippine Edition as the official Liturgy Publication partner of the next International Eucharistic Congress. Bayard Assumption Media Foundation of the Augustinian of the Assumption is the publisher of Living with Christ, Philippine Edition.
Joining Palma at the recent MOA signing held between the IEC 2016 and Bayard Assumption Media Foundation were CBCP’s Archbishop Romulo Valles, D.D. of Davao, Bishop Antonieto Cabajog, D.D. of Surigao, Bayard Assumption Media Business Development director Tessa Mangahas, IEC 2016 Liturgy head Fr. Mhar Balili and IEC 2016 Promotions head Elvira Go.
“I pray that all of us who love Jesus in the Holy Eucharist will spiritually prepare for the coming of Pope Francis and the International Eucharistic Congress by bringing the Word of the Lord in our lives through a daily reading of Living with Christ,” Palma enjoins. “I am happy with what the Augustinian of the Assumption Fathers are churning out Living with Christ and other publications for the Filipino faithful.”
Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle also expressed his delight at the participation of this “beautiful and great blessing of the Church that is now in the Philippines, Living with Christ. This liturgical and prayer guide could prepare us spiritually and pastorally for the coming of Pope Francis next year and the International Eucharistic Congress in 2016.” Tagle also hopes that this partnership between the Augustinian of the Assumption Fathers would pave the way for more collaborative projects with the wider Church.
Fr. Bernard Holzer of the Augustinians of the Assumption and GM of Bayard Assumption Media, said that the participation of Living with Christ in the International Eucharistic Congress is part of the congregation’s media in evangelization. “We publish Living with Christ and other Filipino-themed, innovative and high-quality religious books to reach a widespread and multicultural community of readers, young and old. Because of the success of Living with Christ in schools, parishes, among bishops, priests and other ministries including the general public, we have given in to the clamor for a version for children,” Holzer says.
From the October 2014 issue until January 2015, Living with Christ will publish the National Prayer for the Papal Visit on its back cover. The October 2014 issue has Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary on its cover.
Bayard Assumption Media Foundation also recently came out with versions for children of Living with Christ, both in English and Filipino. Living with Christ is now considered an important tool in Catholic education among Philippine schools and catechesis in the local church. It is also a participant in the Manila International Book Fair 2014 (Booth 286) that will run at the SMX Convention Hall from Sept. 17 to 21.
Living with Christ is also available in National Book Store, Fully Booked and Powerbooks. The Faith Series published in partnership with Adarna, may be found in Adarna outlets.
