MANILA, Philippines — Yeng Constantino is almost done with the preparations of her wedding with Victor Asuncion, happening early next year.
Yeng said she and her fiancé are only finalizing a few details such as in booking suppliers of cocktails and the wedding cake, and confirming who will perform as wedding singer.
The Kapamilya singer, however, does not want any of her friends to render the songs on the big day. "Kasi most of my friends are musicians. So I don't want them to work that day. Gusto ko lang sila maging bisita, kaibigan, ma-enjoy lang nila 'yong moment," she explained.
As for the wedding sponsors (ninongs and ninangs), the couple did not get a full celebrity lineup, and considered mostly younger couples to be their godparents.
Yeng said the chosen sponsors are those who are "hindi masyadong may age pero nilu-look up namin 'yong relationship."
Although Yeng is known spend much time with her fans, she wanted to keep the ceremony private. So she decided to share with her fans the wedding video and photos after the event.
"Siyempre gusto namin i-share ni Yan, hindi lang sa close friends namin," she said. "Naintindihan naman ni Yan na 'yong fans, they want to see me on that day. But siguro after na lang. I-share din namin 'yong honeymoon destination namin which is in Maldives."
Meanwhile, many were moved with the music video of Yeng's new single "Ikaw," which served as the couple's prenup video.
The video was shot in Singapore, Batanes and Palawan.
The 25-year-old singer relates interesting trivia about the video. First is that the scenes included in the video are taken "in between takes, so 'yong nakikita nila sa videos na nagtatawanan kami, naghaharutan kami, in between takes 'yon. Kami rin, no'ng unang napanood namin 'yon, naiyak kami ni Yan, e. Gano'n pala talaga kami kasaya tignan."
Another trivia that she shared was they repeated the studio recording of the song four times before she perfected it.
"Umiiyak lang talaga ako, e, ando'n pa si Yan sa studio," she recalled. "Hindi ko ma-express into word kung ano 'yong napi-feel ko about it. Kaya no'ng kinakanta na namin sa Singapore naiyak pa rin ako. Kasi I'm very happy na nakilala ko na si Yan, na siya 'yong pakakasalan ko. Napaka-blessed ko talaga na woman."
Aside from sharing their love story, Yeng said they made the video to show their future children "kung gaano kami kasaya."
"Gusto namin kung magkakaro'n sila ng relationship, i-peg nila gano'n kasaya," said says.
She also wants her love story to become a message to younger generations that in finding love "siguro lang mahirap, crucial ang waiting time, minsan maiinip ka, minsan iniisip mo kung kalian ba dadating. Pero may reward ang waiting."
