GMA Radio inks licensing deal with MVP, Inc.

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - GMA Radio Operations, the business group that manages GMA Network’s radio stations, entered into a license agreement with Music Video Performance, Inc. (MVP), a private organization that serves as the collecting agent for performers and recording companies.

The agreement is held in compliance with the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines which stipulates that authorization and payment of royalties to the owner or producer, and artists or talents is required prior to the use of their sound recordings.

The licensing agreement is effective until 2015 and includes all GMA AM and FM radio stations nationwide, as well as its affiliate RGMA Network, Inc.

GMA Network earlier signed a licensing agreement with MVP for its TV operations in April 2014.
