Deaf-mute beauty among 2014 Queen of the Philippines bets
MANILA, Philippines - Princess Alanis Pura (photo), 18, a deaf-mute, is among the 23 official candidates of 2014 Queen of the Philippines presented to the press during its inaugural edition launch.
She studied at the Philippine School for the Deaf in Pasay City. She was born and raised in Pampanga. Her true-to-life story was featured in GMA-7’s Magpakailanman on Sept. 14, 2013, The Princess Pura Story, with Kylie Padilla as Princess Alanis. This is Pura’s second pageant stint. Aided by a sign language interpreter throughout the competition, she made it as one of the 15 finalists in the 2013 Teen Faces Ad Model Search.
Produced and staged by Ovette Ricalde’s Megastar Productions, the grand finals of the 2014 Queen of the Philippines will be held in Subic Bay Yacht Club in Subic Bay Free Zone on Aug. 1 where three top winners and two runners-up will be proclaimed. Overall production concept and direction by Concon Sinel, with a delayed telecast over Global News Network.
The three queens will be our representatives in this year’s Face of Beauty International in Taichung, Taiwan, on Oct. 6; Yachting Models International and Face of World (dates and venues to be announced later).
